Spanish Lead Early Ed Teachers

About This Role We are looking for amazing lead teachers! The ideal candidate is bilingual in Spanish and English, has excellent classroom management skills, and loves working with children. A degree in Early Childhood is required, with a minimum Career Level 4 on the Georgia PDS. Candidates must be fluent in Spanish and local to the Atlanta metro area. Responsibilities We are looking for individuals who are passionate and dedicated to the job of working with children. Our staff is made of loving and dedicated teachers who understand each child’s needs. You must have a degree in Early Childhood and speak Spanish for this position. Competitive pay depends on experience and credentials. Responsible for planning and implementing instruction and assessing child growth and development in the classroom in accordance with Bright from the Start, Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning, NAEYC and the LLIP policies, goals, objectives, mission and values. Responsible for supervision of Assistant Teacher. Responsible for orderly room arrangement and classroom environment, including classroom housekeeping responsibilities (toy sanitation, sweeping floors, cleaning furniture, etc.). Facilitate learning opportunities for children in the Spanish Language. Attend to custodial needs of children (diaper changing, assisting with toileting, etc.). Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons and activities. Make adaptations in the program and teaching style to meet the needs of individual children, considering their interests, special needs, talents, and learning pace. Assist and interact with individual children or small groups involved in activities. Ensure the physical safety of children during program activities. Maintain a clean and healthy environment by following sanitation procedures. Train classroom staff and supervise their teaching methods. Consult with teachers from other programs. Consult with parents regarding children’s progress through parent conferences. Plan and implement one staff training meeting each school year, and attend all staff and parent meetings. Attend all training required for professional growth and development both during and outside normal center operating hours. Distribute weekly or monthly newsletters to parents. Complete individual portfolios on children for future planning and to assess their progress. Assist with and attend public relations, recruitment and family events sponsored by the school both during and outside normal center hours of operation. Prepare and submit all required reports in a timely manner. Treat children with respect and dignity, especially in regard to their cultural and socioeconomic background. Effectively communicate with parents. Observe and document each child’s development in daily reports, portfolios, team meetings, progress reports. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Must meet current Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning Lead Teacher Credential requirement. Degree and prior experience in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a related field. Fluent in Spanish. Comprehensive knowledge of child development. Ability to work under pressure and in noisy conditions, responding to numerous needs at once. Ability to handle exposure to bites, scratches, kicks, and hitting from children. Ability to lift children of varying weights as needed; greater frequency for infants/toddlers.
