Sr. Tax Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Tax Accountant to support a client engagement on a long term, remote project. This Long-term Contract position focuses on sales and use tax compliance, tax preparation activities, and corporate tax reporting in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment. The ideal candidate brings strong technical tax knowledge, hands-on experience with Avalara, and the ability to manage deadlines while maintaining accuracy.Responsibilities:• Oversee sales and use tax activities, including review, preparation, and timely filing of related returns.• Prepare and support corporate tax return processes with close attention to accuracy and documentation.• Research tax issues and apply current regulations to ensure compliance with state and local requirements.• Use Avalara to manage tax calculations, reporting workflows, and compliance support activities.• Reconcile tax accounts and investigate variances to maintain reliable financial records.• Partner with internal stakeholders and project contacts to gather information needed for tax filings and reporting.• Maintain organized tax workpapers and supporting schedules for audit readiness and internal review.
