We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support key accounting operations for our team in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role plays an important part in maintaining accurate financial records, managing core close activities, and ensuring timely completion of transactional and reporting tasks. The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger experience, sound analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.

Responsibilities:
• Manage payment processing activities by reviewing vendor invoices and coordinating accounts payable disbursements.
• Submit payroll funding files to banking platforms and help ensure timely and accurate payment execution.
• Complete bank account reconciliations and record related financial activity with a high level of accuracy.
• Prepare and post journal entries to support routine accounting operations and month-end close requirements.
• Review account activity, investigate variances against budget, and provide clear analysis of financial results.
• Prepare and file monthly sales and use tax reports in accordance with applicable requirements.
• Partner with internal teams to exchange financial information and support cross-functional accounting needs.
• Reconcile general ledger balances, resolve discrepancies, and assemble supporting schedules for month-end reporting.
• Assist with the preparation of additional accounting schedules, including learning specialized schedule preparation as needed for future processes.• Proven experience supporting month-end close in a staff or senior accounting capacity.
• Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting and financial statement support activities.
• Hands-on experience preparing journal entries and maintaining accurate supporting documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to perform account reconciliations and resolve variances efficiently.
• Experience completing bank reconciliations and recording related transactions accurately.
• Solid analytical skills with the ability to review account detail and interpret budget-to-actual differences.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multiple departments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
