Automation and Controls Account Manager

Snapshot / Role Overview
We're seeking an Automation and Controls Account Manager in Phoenix, AZ to drive sales growth and manage client relationships for building automation and HVAC controls solutions.

Impact

• Drive revenue growth by securing new controls projects and expanding existing account relationships

• Position the company as a trusted controls solutions provider in the Phoenix market

• Enable customer success by understanding their needs and delivering tailored automation solutions

• Strengthen long-term partnerships through exceptional service and technical expertise

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage a portfolio of commercial building accounts in the Phoenix metro area

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities for building automation and controls projects

• Prepare proposals, specifications, and quotes for controls installations and service agreements

• Conduct site assessments and present automation solutions to building owners and facility managers

• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams on project design and execution

• Build strategic relationships with general contractors, mechanical contractors, and consulting engineers

• Track sales pipeline, forecast revenue, and report on account activities

• Stay informed on building automation technologies, market trends, and competitor offerings

• Negotiate contract terms and close sales agreements

Requirements

Must-Haves

• 3+ years of sales or account management experience in building automation, HVAC controls, or related field

• Strong understanding of building automation systems, DDC controls, and HVAC applications

• Proven ability to develop new business and manage existing accounts effectively

• Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills

• Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within Phoenix metro area

Nice-to-Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field

• Technical background in controls programming or HVAC systems

• Existing network of contacts in Phoenix commercial building market

• Experience with major BAS platforms (Tridium, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Schneider Electric)
