Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hours Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Certification, NIHSS Must-Have: Ability to read and interpret all cardiac rhythms Description: Unit information: - Number of beds: 31 beds (11 private & 10 semi-private) - Ratios: 1 to 4 - Charge Nurse: Shift Manager & Resource Nurse - Nurse Aides: Yes, 2 on days & 1 on nights - Weekend Requirement: 4 shifts out of a 4-week schedule. - Weekend shifts for nights are Friday/Saturday and Saturday/Sunday for days. - Holidays: Expected to work into the permanent staff holiday rotation (1 major holiday & 1 minor holiday). - Scrub Color: Navy blue. Scrub jackets, undershirts must also be navy, white, or black. - Telemetry Equipment: Philips - Vents: CPAP or BiPAP (per respiratory therapy) - In-house hospitalist or intensivist: Yes, on-call after hours - IV Team: No - Respiratory Therapy: 24/7 availability - Pharmacy: 24/7 availability, including Omnicell - Shifts: 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. - Block scheduling allowed if unit needs are met, but not guaranteed. - Floating: Travelers are the first to float. Potential floating between medical-surgical and telemetry units, ICUs, or ER holds may occur. - Floor-specific orientation: 1-2 shifts with a preceptor. - Common diagnosis/types of patients include: Post pacemaker, hemodialysis, new onset atrial fibrillation or rapid ventricular response, stepdown from ICU, surgical patients, urology patients, oncology patients with cardiac monitoring, strokes, traumatic brain injuries, high acuity patients, patients with bedsores, and sepsis. - Cancellation Policy: The facility can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment, or 3 shifts for assignments shorter than 13 weeks. Full pay for canceled shifts may apply in certain circumstances. - Charting System: Cerner - BSN Requirement: Not required - Trauma Level: Not specified - Care Setting: Acute - Division: Nursing - Shift Notes: Nights, every other weekend, first to float.
