Sales and Operations Planning (Ops Research) Sr. Manager (Minneapolis)

This role would be a dynamic and experienced leader who drives optimal process design. This role sits within the Operations organization and requires deep partnership and a sophisticated understanding of the Commercial business. This is a critical leadership role that will ensure alignment between our commercial and operations strategies and capabilities. The Sr Manager of operations research will be responsible for developing process models required to translate complex operational realities into actionable, data-driven strategies. This role requires a strong background in process modeling, data analysis, and process improvement, with a deep understanding of lean principles and proven commercial acumen.Remote/National: Open to candidates nationwide. Requires on-site attendance approximately once per month at a Quest Diagnostics facility.Pay range: $135,000-165,000, plus yearly bonusSalary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. (Preferred)Capacity & Labor Modeling: Design and implement models to understand our operation capabilities. Build models and tools that allow the business to understand capacity, measure efficiency, and make informed resource investments and schedulesWork Measurement: Partner with process owners to design and manage time and motions studies to establish labor standards for core processes. Work cross functionally to conduct process mapping to identify all process steps ensuring models reflect the reality of the processStatistical Capacity & Throughput Analysis: Develop and maintain instrument capacity models, including throughput rates, downtime, and QC needs. Use statistical analysis to quantify process variability, calculate utilization targets and identify true constraints and perform occasional time studies & gemba observations.Strategic Process & Network Optimization: the role leverages advanced modeling techniques (including discrete event simulations) to answer high-stakes, strategic what-if questions. This involves building large-scale simulations and optimization models to guide senior leadership on long-term footprint, regionalization, and acquisition decisions.Financial Modeling: Support financial modeling of recommendations needed for business decisions. Capacity & Supply Planning: Work with Operations, Manufacturing, and Laboratory leaders to assess and understand the current and future capacity of our facilities and workforce. Identify potential constraints and bottlenecks in the system.Process Improvement: Utilize Lean manufacturing and flow principles to continuously improve operational efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance throughput.Data Analysis & Reporting:Conduct ad-hoc data analysis in Excel to answer critical business questions and explore emerging trends.Develop and maintain ongoing reports and dashboards in PowerPoint and other tools to communicate process performance and insights to stakeholders.Full timePosting Date: 2026-06-11
