Your Experience & Skills Veterinary Technician licensure preferred 1–2 years of clinical veterinary experience required Surgical and anesthesia experience preferred Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology Program preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience Strong communication and client education skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced specialty and emergency environment Experience with patient monitoring, anesthesia, IV catheter placement, laboratory diagnostics, and surgical nursing care preferred About Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists Miami Thrive Pet Healthcare Specialists Miami is looking for a Veterinary Technician – For our Surgery Department to join our growing team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community. Our hospital offers advanced specialty services including: Surgery Internal Medicine Emergency & Critical Care Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Our surgery department performs a wide range of soft tissue and advanced surgical procedures and works closely with our emergency and specialty teams to provide comprehensive patient care. You’re Willing and Able To Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients Assist surgeons and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow Prepare patients for surgery, including patient assessments, IV catheter placement, blood collection, and anesthesia preparation Monitor anesthesia and patient vital signs throughout surgical procedures Assist with surgical procedures in accordance with Florida Veterinary Practice Act guidelines Maintain sterile surgical environments and ensure proper instrument preparation and care Communicate with clients regarding individualized pet health concerns, treatment plans, medications, and Thrive Membership options Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records utilizing hospital practice management systems Obtain relevant patient histories and client information Use safe restraint techniques and uphold hospital safety protocols Maintain clean, organized, and sterile treatment, surgical, and laboratory areas Mentor and support fellow team members while contributing to a positive hospital culture You’ll Grow with Us Here, you can grow your career through access to comprehensive learning and development programs. Compensation Compensation is negotiable based on credentials and experience. Hourly Pay Range: $22–$30 per hour The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, experience, certifications, and overall fit for the role.
