Work Environment

This full-time position requires the Nurse Practitioner to be onsite, engaging directly with patients in both our clinic setting and through house calls. Our work hours are Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, providing a balanced schedule free from night and weekend shifts. You will collaborate with a team that includes physicians, fellow NPs, registered nurses, and administrative support staff, working in a supportive atmosphere that values both professional growth and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a team of cardiologists and healthcare professionals to deliver top-notch patient care.
• Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with chronic conditions such as hypertension and hyperlipidemia, utilizing evidence-based practices to develop treatment plans.
• Provide outpatient Electrophysiology services for patients with arrhythmias, including those with pacemakers or implantable devices.
• Manage acute cardiac conditions, offering treatment and education on conditions such as coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, and transient ischemic attacks.
• Conduct stress tests and interpret electrocardiograms to determine patients' cardiovascular health statuses.
• Document comprehensive histories and perform physical examinations, as well as prescribing medication as necessary.
• Facilitate referrals to specialists within the clinic when necessary, ensuring a continuous care experience for patients.
• Educate patients and their families on health management and disease prevention, working to empower them in their health decisions.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The Nurse Practitioner will serve a diverse patient population with a variety of cardiac and non-cardiac health needs. This includes individuals from various socioeconomic backgrounds, requiring a sensitivity and adaptability to understand and address their unique healthcare challenges. You will be responsible for fostering long-term relationships with patients, emphasizing continuity of care.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program; a Master's or Doctorate in Nursing is preferred.
• Valid Nurse Practitioner certification with current licensure in New York State.
• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program aligned with our clinic’s focus on family/general practice.

Preferred Experience

We welcome applications from both seasoned practitioners and new graduates, with preference given to candidates with previous experience in cardiology or related fields. Familiarity with outpatient care models and cardiology-specific procedures will be highly beneficial.

Compensation and Benefits
