This is a contract role with an immediate start date, extending through the end of the academic year.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification required
• Experience working with middle school students preferred
• Background supporting students with mild to moderate behavioral challenges
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams

Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead a self-contained classroom for middle school students with special needs
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Adapt general education lessons and curriculum to address each student’s learning goals
• Employ evidence-based behavioral management strategies
• Track and communicate students' progress with families and staff
• Collaborate with counselors, therapists, and other support professionals
• Create a safe, supportive atmosphere that encourages student growth
