We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to support day-to-day financial operations for a long-term contract opportunity in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable handling high-volume transaction processing in a structured accounting environment. The selected candidate will contribute to invoice management, accounts payable activities, account reconciliations, and audit-related reporting while helping maintain accurate financial records.

Responsibilities:
• Review incoming invoices, assign the appropriate accounting codes, and ensure transactions are entered accurately and on time.
• Manage payment processing activities, including preparing and supporting regular check runs in accordance with established procedures.
• Record accounts receivable journal entries and verify supporting documentation to maintain complete and reliable financial data.
• Assist with audit preparation by gathering requested records, organizing financial information, and producing supporting reports.
• Reconcile accounting reports and investigate discrepancies to help ensure the accuracy of balances and transactions.
• Process invoices from receipt through completion while maintaining compliance with internal controls and documentation standards.
• Generate recurring and ad hoc financial reports for the accounting team to support daily operations and review activities.• Experience supporting accounts payable functions, including invoice review, coding, and payment processing.
• Working knowledge of invoice processing procedures and financial record maintenance.
• Ability to prepare and enter journal entries with a high level of accuracy.
• Experience reconciling reports and identifying variances within accounting data.
• Proficiency in using accounting systems and spreadsheet software for reporting and transaction tracking.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills to support collaboration with accounting and audit stakeholders.
