Adjunct Faculty In Exercise Science

Misericordia University is seeking qualified adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate courses in exercise science on a part-time, semester-by-semester basis. We welcome dedicated educators who are committed to student learning, professional excellence, and supporting our mission of providing a values-based education in the Mercy tradition.

Adjunct faculty may be assigned lecture or lab courses in areas such as:

• Exercise Physiology
• Kinesiology & Biomechanics
• Strength and Conditioning
• Anatomy & Physiology (with lab, as appropriate)
• Motor Behavior / Motor Learning
• Fitness Assessment & Exercise Prescription
• Health Promotion & Wellness

Additional responsibilities include:

• Preparing course materials, syllabi, assessments, and lab activities aligned with departmental standards
• Teaching in face-to-face or hybrid modalities, depending on departmental need
• Providing timely, formative, and summative feedback to students
• Maintaining accurate academic records, attendance, and grades
• Supporting an inclusive, student-centered learning environment
• Collaborating with program faculty to ensure curricular consistency and accreditation standards

Minimum qualifications:

• Master's degree in exercise science, kinesiology, exercise physiology, or a closely related field
• Demonstrated content knowledge in assigned teaching areas
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to the mission and values of Misericordia University

Preferred qualifications:

• Collegiate teaching experience (lecture and/or lab)
• Relevant clinical or professional experience in exercise science, fitness, or health-related fields
• Professional certifications (e.g., ACSM-EP, ACSM-CEP, NSCA-CSCS, NASM, ACE)
• Experience with learning management systems (e.g., Blackboard) and technology-enhanced instruction
• Experience supervising undergraduate research or applied projects
