A private educational organization in South Florida is seeking a compassionate and dependable Family Nurse Practitioner or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to provide school-based health services throughout the academic year. This is a full-time, 10-month schedule aligned with the school calendar. The role is ideal for an FNP or PNP who enjoys working with children and adolescents, is comfortable practicing independently, and can provide calm, thoughtful care in a school health office setting. Job Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Evaluate and treat students and staff experiencing illness, injury, or other health concerns during school hours.
• Perform age-appropriate assessments and determine whether a student may remain at school, needs parental pickup, or requires additional medical care.
• Provide first aid and immediate care for injuries, asthma episodes, allergic reactions, diabetic concerns, seizures, and other urgent situations.
• Recognize medical emergencies and initiate appropriate emergency-response procedures.
• Administer prescription and over-the-counter medications according to provider orders, parental authorization, organizational policies, and applicable regulations.
• Develop, maintain, and follow individualized healthcare plans and emergency action plans.
• Monitor students with chronic or complex medical conditions.
• Communicate with parents or guardians regarding illnesses, injuries, medications, and recommended follow-up care.
• Collaborate with outside healthcare providers when properly authorized.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential student and staff health records.
• Review required health documentation, immunization records, physical examination forms, and medical clearances.
• Assist with health screenings, wellness initiatives, prevention programs, and student health education.
• Monitor for communicable illnesses and provide guidance regarding precautions and return-to-school requirements.
• Maintain medical supplies, emergency medications, first-aid materials, and health office equipment.
• Support emergency preparedness and health-related response planning.

Schedule

• Full-time. Follows the school calendar, so it’s a 10-month schedule each year.
• Monday-Friday.
• 7:30/45 AM to 3:30 PM.
• No weekends.
• No regularly scheduled evening shifts.
• Local candidates only.
• Exact location shared during screening.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current and unrestricted APRN license in the state of practice.
• Current national certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
• Current BLS certification.
• Prescriptive authority as required for the position.
• Strong pediatric or family-practice assessment skills.
• Ability to independently evaluate children and adolescents.
• Strong triage, documentation, communication, and clinical decision-making skills.
• Ability to complete all required background checks, fingerprinting, and employment clearances.
• Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the worksite.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in school health, pediatrics, family medicine, urgent care, emergency medicine, or community health.
• Experience managing asthma, diabetes, severe allergies, seizures, and other chronic pediatric conditions.
• Current PALS certification.
• Familiarity with immunization requirements, student health records, and emergency action plans.
• Experience collaborating with families, educators, administrators, and community healthcare providers.
