The Senior Medical Posting Representative oversees the effective and accurate processing and posting of insurance payments and refund requests for the department. Additionally, he/she researches and troubleshoots rejections, and investigates potential refunds.**CORE JOB FUNCTIONS** * Assists supervising staff in maintaining quality control of all data.* Identifies potential problems on vouchers and corrects them.* Contacts physician offices, when vouchers lack sufficient information for payment of a claim, and educates them on proper claim coding.* Processes all charge document batches and verifies total charges on batch ledger.* Reviews encounter forms to ensure that required data elements are present.* Checks patient registrations for financial class, enters appropriate authorizations, and makes sure encounters and co-pays are linked to patient visits.* Communicates with management, physicians, and other relevant parties regarding code edits.* Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.***This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities as necessary.*****CORE QUALIFICATIONS** * High School Diploma or equivalent/relevant experience, certification or license* Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required* Refer to department description for applicable certification requirementsty: Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols, and adapt to changing priorities and work demands.* Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment.* Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications. - Communication: Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders.***Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.***#LI-NN1The University of Miami offers competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, tuition remission and more.UHealth-University of Miami Health System, South Florida's only university-based health system, provides leading-edge patient care powered by the ground breaking research and medical education at the Miller School of Medicine.
