Healthcare Investment Banking Vice President

Role Overview and Key Responsibilities

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Vice President (VP) is a senior leadership position within our middle-market healthcare investment banking practice, responsible for leading transaction execution, managing client relationships, supporting business development initiatives, and mentoring junior professionals. The VP will work closely with Managing Directors and Directors to deliver exceptional advisory services to healthcare organizations, physician groups, healthcare services companies, and related businesses across mergers and acquisitions (M&A), capital raising, partnerships, restructurings, and other strategic advisory engagements.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical and analytical capabilities with excellent communication skills, project management expertise, and a commitment to developing client relationships and expanding the firm's market presence.

Location: Fort Lauderdale, Florida — This is an in-office position based in Cross Keys Capital's Fort Lauderdale office. Candidates must be based in South Florida or willing to relocate to the area.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Transaction Execution

• Lead and manage all aspects of transaction execution, including financial modeling, valuation analysis, due diligence, preparation of marketing materials, buyer and investor outreach, and coordination among clients, counterparties, and other advisors.

• Serve as the day-to-day leader on active engagements, ensuring transaction milestones, timelines, and deliverables are achieved efficiently and accurately.
\n
• Review and oversee the preparation of financial analyses, presentations, confidential information memoranda, management presentations, and other transaction-related materials.
\n

Client Management

\n
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, maintaining consistent communication and providing strategic guidance throughout the transaction process.
\n
• Develop trusted relationships with executives, shareholders, boards, and other key stakeholders.
\n
• Assist clients in evaluating strategic alternatives and navigating complex transaction-related decisions.
\n

Business Development

\n
• Support senior bankers in identifying, developing, and pursuing new business opportunities.
\n
• Participate in the preparation and presentation of pitch materials, industry analyses, and client proposals.
\n
• Represent the firm at industry conferences, networking events, and client meetings.
\n

Team Leadership

\n
• Mentor, train, and supervise Associates, Analysts, and other junior professionals.
\n
• Provide guidance on financial analyses, valuation work, presentation development, transaction processes, and professional development.
\n
• Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on excellence and client service.
\n

Industry Expertise

\n
• Maintain current knowledge of healthcare industry trends, reimbursement developments, regulatory changes, valuation trends, and transaction activity.
\n
• Provide insightful market intelligence and thought leadership to clients and colleagues.
\n
• Contribute to the firm's industry expertise and competitive positioning.
\n

Marketing & Firm Development

\n
• Provide active leadership, support, and initiative in the marketing of the firm's existing and emerging service offerings.
\n
• Assist in developing thought leadership, industry content, and strategic initiatives designed to expand the firm's market presence and brand recognition.
\n
• Identify opportunities to expand the firm's relationships, capabilities, and presence within new healthcare subsectors and adjacent industry verticals.
\n

Professional Development & Relationship Building

\n
• Build and maintain strong relationships with referral sources, including attorneys, accountants, quality of earnings (QoE) providers, lenders, wealth advisors, consultants, and other professional service providers.
\n
• Actively cultivate a network of industry contacts that can generate future transaction opportunities and strategic partnerships.
\n

Compliance

\n
• Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements, firm policies, and compliance standards.
\n
• Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality in all client and firm interactions.
\n

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Education & Experience

\n
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related field; strong academic record required. MBA, CFA, or CPA is a plus.
\n
• Five to seven years of investment banking, transaction advisory, or comparable corporate finance experience.
\n
• Meaningful healthcare M&A experience, including direct experience with physician practices and physician practice management transactions.
\n
• Demonstrated track record of leading sell-side M&A engagements from initial preparation through closing.
\n
• Experience supervising, training, and developing Associates and Analysts.
\n
• FINRA Series 79 license required, or willingness to obtain them within the firm's prescribed timeframe.
\n

Technical Skills

\n
• Expert command of financial modeling and valuation methodologies, with the ability to review and challenge the work of junior professionals.
\n
• Working knowledge of healthcare reimbursement models, regulatory considerations, and the operating and financial drivers of healthcare businesses.
\n
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, and familiarity with financial and market data resources and CRM tools such as Capital IQ, Apollo and Deal Cloud.
\n
• Command of transaction structures, purchase agreements, and diligence processes sufficient to guide clients through negotiation and closing.
\n
