About the Position

Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Sterile Processing Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Mid Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: 3 years required License: None specified Certifications: CBSPD or CRCST required Must-Have: - Experience with high-level disinfection - Familiarity with decontamination, sterilization, and assembly of instruments - Proficiency in sterilization processes (sterrad and steam) - Experience with Censitrac tracking system - Ability to work rotating weekends and occasional holidays Description: We are seeking candidates who are experienced in all areas of sterile processing. Candidates should have experience in the decontamination of all items including drills and scopes. Assembly of instruments across all service lines is required, including trauma and loaners. Knowledge of sterilization processes such as sterrad and steam is essential. High-level disinfection experience is required. Candidates must have sterile storage and OR liaison experience. Familiarity with the Censitrac tracking system is a plus. Candidates must not have been previous permanent staff or return travelers within the specified system. Travelers who have reached the one-year max contract limit are not eligible for extensions. Candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of the care site are not eligible. All candidates must comply with a strict fingerprinting process upon signing the contract. Two professional references are required, including one from a formal leadership capacity. No coworker references will be accepted. Former employees may apply for assignments after being away for six months. Current employees are not eligible for travel assignments. RNs must have a valid state license in hand at the time of submission. Education must come from an accredited program. The position requires ability to adapt to various reprocessing sites and work on sterilization and cleaning tasks 24/7. The goal is to ensure that all medical supplies and instrumentation are reused safely to prevent infections.
