Occupational Therapy AssistantSUMMARY: Under general direction of a Certified Occupational Therapist and supervision of District Occupational Therapists, assists in providing direct services to assist students with mental, physical, developmental or emotional disabilities that impact their educational performance; monitors the use of assistive technology devices and systems; assists in the procurement, preparation and maintenance of materials and supplies.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from High School and one (1) year of experience providing direct therapy to individuals in need of occupational therapy in a clinical or educational setting and/or possession of certified license in occupational therapy, or graduation from a certified occupational therapist assistant certificate program. Additional experience working with children (ages three to twenty-one) is desirable. CPR and First Aid certification are required within 30 days of hire. Valid Occupational Therapy Assistant License from the California Board of Occupational Therapy is required.The Palm Springs Unified School District is committed to equal opportunity for all individuals in education and employment.
