Reporting to the Senior Director, this role will coordinate and oversee JLL's scope of work, ensuring seamless project execution and follow-through across university facilities operations. A significant component of this role includes managing all waste management and recycling operations for the campus, ensuring vendor accountability and service excellence.What your day-to-day will look like:Oversee all waste management and recycling logistics across Tennessee State University campusManage vendor relationship and ensure accountability for contracted scope of workMonitor service schedules, collection routes, and bin placement to optimize efficiencyTrack waste and recycling metrics, including diversion rates and service complianceRespond to service issues and coordinate timely resolution with vendorConduct regular site inspections to ensure proper waste container placement and maintenanceDevelop and implement strategies to improve campus recycling participation and waste reductionCoordinate special waste collection needs for events, move-ins/move-outs, and seasonal activitiesEnsure compliance with local, state, and federal waste disposal regulationsSupport the Senior Director in managing JLL's scope of work for non-capital projects across campusCoordinate maintenance, repair, and operational improvement projects from initiation through completionTrack project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure on-time completionMonitor project budgets and resource allocation to maintain cost efficiencyServe as primary point of contact for waste management issues and project status updatesFacilitate communication between university stakeholders, vendors, and JLL team membersConduct regular follow-up on open items, ensuring nothing falls through the cracksDocument project progress, vendor performance, and maintain accurate records in relevant systemsProvide regular reporting on waste management operations and project statusAssist in developing project scopes, schedules, and work plansCoordinate with facilities maintenance teams to schedule and execute workEnsure compliance with university policies, safety standards, and quality requirementsIdentify potential project risks and operational inefficiencies, developing mitigation strategiesHelp streamline project workflows, waste management protocols, and communication processesMaintain and update project tracking tools, vendor performance documentation, and sustainability metricsSupport continuous improvement initiatives within the facilities management programRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Environmental Science, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience3+ years of project coordination or project management experience, preferably in facilities management or higher educationExperience managing vendor relationships and holding contractors accountable to service agreementsStrong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects and operational responsibilities simultaneouslyExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaborativelyValid driver's license and ability to travel across campus regularlyPreferred Qualifications:Experience in higher education facilities management or waste management operationsKnowledge of waste diversion programs, recycling best practices, and sustainability initiativesFamiliarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar credentialKnowledge of building systems and maintenance operationsUnderstanding of environmental regulations related to waste disposalLocation: Nashville, TN (on-site)Work shift: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PMThis position does not provide visa sponsorship.
