Sr. Communications Specialist
Quaise Energy, Inc
Quaise Energy is unlocking Earth’s deep heat to deliver clean, reliable, baseload energy at scale – almost anywhere in the world. As both a technology innovator and project developer, Quaise builds and operates solutions that harness superhot geothermal energy far below the surface, enabling power generation that can rival the output of today’s most efficient fossil fuel and nuclear plants. Leveraging millimeter wave drilling, developed after more than a decade of research at MIT, Quaise’s mission is to make superhot geothermal a backbone of the modern energy system, offering affordable, zero‑carbon power and true energy independence for communities and nations everywhere. The Senior Communications Specialist will play a defining, hands‑on role in shaping Quaise Energy’s online, physical, and internal engagement. You will lead all social media channels, event execution, internal communications, and day‑to‑day content development. Reporting to the Director of Communications, you will work closely with leadership, technical teams, human resources, external partners, and creative vendors to translate Quaise’s progress into highly compelling, accurate content and events. In this role, you will manage complex communications initiatives, write with clarity, think strategically, and bring energy and creativity to your work. You will help Quaise communicate with the credibility and imagination of a company redefining the global energy landscape by translating groundbreaking technology into compelling stories that resonate with diverse audiences. Your work will play a key role in building a brand that inspires and excites employees, customers, investors, partners, and the broader energy community. Additional responsibilities include maintaining a positive corporate culture, promoting a safe and creative work environment, identifying and supporting opportunities for external collaborations, and other activities designed to improve Quaise. Work Location: Flexible. Hybrid preferred in Cambridge, MA; Houston, TX; or Bend, OR, with consideration for fully remote candidates. Essential functions (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.) Social Media Manage and grow Quaise Energy’s social media presence. Draft, edit, schedule, and publish company posts, executive thought leadership, event content, project updates, technical explainers, employee stories, and culture content. Help translate complex topics, including superhot geothermal energy and millimeter wave drilling, into clear, engaging content for broad audiences. Identify strong story angles from across the company, including technical milestones, field activity, partnerships, hiring, culture, and market developments. Maintain and manage editorial calendars, review workflows, campaign plans, content libraries, messaging documents, and recurring templates. Track and analyze social media performance, audience growth, engagement, and content themes, and recommend ways to improve reach and quality. Monitor industry conversations, competitor communications, policy and energy trends, and social media opportunities relevant to Quaise. Collaborate with designers, photographers, videographers, agencies, and internal subject‑matter experts to create strong visual and multimedia content. Help ensure Quaise’s public voice remains clear, credible, and ambitious. Events Maintain company‑wide event calendars, checklists, budgets, vendor details, shipping plans, and post‑event learnings. Lead planning and execution for conferences, trade shows, speaking engagements, site visits, investor events, webinars, company‑hosted events, and internal meetings. Coordinate event logistics, including timelines, registrations, booth materials, shipping, vendors, briefing documents, speaker preparation, run‑of‑show materials, signage, and follow‑up. Develop event‑related communications, including social media posts, speaker bios, talking points, internal briefings, presentation support, attendee outreach, and recap content. Help turn events into storytelling opportunities before, during, and after they happen. Work cross‑functionally with leadership, technical teams, external partners, and vendors to ensure events are organized, strategic, and well‑executed. Help identify high‑value conferences, speaking opportunities, awards, panels, podcasts, and industry forums that advance Quaise’s visibility and credibility. Capture and repurpose event moments into social posts, internal updates, website content, newsletters, multimedia assets, and future campaign material. Serve as a reliable communications lead for select events, ensuring details are expertly handled and opportunities are not missed. Internal Communications Help build internal communications systems that keep employees informed, connected, and proud of the mission. Maintain and build digital resources for all employees to share branded materials and company talking points. Draft and edit internal announcements, leadership messages, newsletters, company updates, meeting recaps, employee spotlights, and culture‑building content. Support all‑hands meetings, leadership updates, internal events, milestone announcements, and employee engagement moments. Partner with Human Resources, Operations, Safety, Engineering, and leadership teams to communicate important updates clearly and effectively. Help create communications rhythms, templates, and processes that improve transparency across a fast‑moving, widespread organization. Ensure internal communications are direct, timely, personal, and aligned with Quaise’s external narrative. Look for ways to make employees feel connected to the bigger picture of how Quaise is building the future of energy. Additional Support Support website updates, blog posts, newsletters, media materials, award submissions, presentations, employer brand content, and other communications projects as needed. Help ensure consistency across Quaise’s messaging, tone, visual identity, and public‑facing materials. Conduct research on industry trends, competitor messaging, stakeholder conversations, and communications best practices. Support the Director of Communications with campaign planning, content creation, annual communications planning, reporting, and strategic communications initiatives. Bring ideas for posts, videos, event activations, internal moments, website copy, campaigns, and ways to make Quaise Energy’s story sharper. Perform other related duties as assigned.
