Ophthalmic Technician I

Retina Care Specialist of Florida offers state‑of‑the‑art vitreoretinal care. All physicians have trained at the most renowned and respected retina and ophthalmology programs in the world. This practice offers various diagnostic procedures and focuses on disorders of the eye. We are now hiring for an Ophthalmic Technician who will support a high‑volume ophthalmic practice focused on providing quality and compassionate care to each patient needing complete eye care services. This position requires customer‑service skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a degree of independent decision‑making. Responsibilities Obtaining and documenting patient history Determining visual acuity Performing automated refraction Administering eye drops, ointments, and irrigating solutions to the eye as ordered by the physician Performing office duties and clinical tasks – entering data into EMRP and providing patient services Measurement of intraocular pressure (tonometry) Pre‑operative preparation of patient Maintaining equipment and instruments 2 to 3 years of ophthalmic or optometric technician experience preferred COA preferred Dependable transportation required to travel to other offices as required Must be flexible with traveling to various locations Ability to pay attention to detail Ability to maintain confidentiality The ability to seek instruction in areas where he/she is not knowledgeable The ability to recognize inconsistencies Education & Certifications Graduation from an accredited high school Benefits Package Medical Dental Vision 401k with match HSA/FSA Telemedicine Generous PTO package Additional Benefits (Free) Employee discounts and perks Employee Assistance Program Group Life/AD&D Short Term Disability Insurance Long Term Disability Insurance EyeSouth Partners is an equal opportunity employer.
