Corp/Biomedical Equipment Technician

This position is responsible for all service-related activities with OEM vendors, maintenance, repair, spare parts inventory, biomedical equipment, and physical plant repair & maintenance. Must work closely with and be responsive to Clinic and ASC operations management, IT, real estate and purchasing. Qualified candidates will have a strong technical background which may include an associate degree or military training in electronics, Mechanical or biomedical technology.

Essential duties and responsibilities include maintaining professionalism within all aspects of job functions and execution, displaying and maintaining a positive attitude and promoting same to others, opening lines of communication within each facility, administration, and the corporate team, displaying ability to multi-task, prioritize, problem solve and handle stressful situations in a timely manner, demonstrating Eyecare Partners mission and established goals in management performance, demonstrating visibility and establishing productive relationships with vendors and stakeholders, displaying a proactive approach and being assertive in all aspects of governing unit functions, adhering to all safety policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities while supporting a culture of high quality and great customer service, and performing other duties that may be necessary or in the best interest of the organization.

Education and/or experience required includes a high school diploma or equivalent, and an associate's degree in electronics, industrial maintenance/biomedical technology, or equivalent (preferred but not required).

Experience requirements include previous medical office experience preferred; previous ophthalmic experience strongly preferred. Prior experience working in a mechanical, automotive, or construction industry, or medical technical setting (preferred but not required).

Thus, those needing to travel for work must have access to dependable transportation, and driving record must meet company liability carrier standards, specialty knowledge of systems/equipment relating to job function, basic medical equipment knowledge (preferred), knowledge of state and federal regulations for this position; general understanding of HIPAA guidelines, manual dexterity required - ability to use common hand tools and small power equipment, good verbal and written communication skills, ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and safely move large/bulky equipment, ability to create a safe and efficient work environment, and valid driver's license issued in the employee's state of residence required.

Location: Work takes place in a normal office/clinical environment. Travel to other locations may be necessary to fulfill essential duties and responsibilities of the job. Thus, those needing to travel for work must have access to dependable transportation, and driving record must meet company liability carrier standards.

Exposure: Works in normal office environment during normal business hours. May be exposed to blood or bodily fluids. May also be exposed to various cleaning supplies.

Equipment: The equipment typically used in this position is a computer, fax, copier, printer, scanner and telephone. Must have good working knowledge of Microsoft applications. Other equipment may be used as needed. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment.
