Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – Primary Care Clinic | Full-Time | Permanent

Location: Elk River, Minnesota
Facility: North Memorial Health – Primary Care Clinic
Employment Type: Full-Time | Permanent
Schedule: Day Shift (80 hours per 2-week pay period)
⏰ Shift Hours: Monday–Friday, shifts vary between 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay Range: $22.23 – $27.37/hour (Based on experience)

Job Overview

North Memorial Health is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join its Primary Care Clinic in Elk River, MN. In this role, you will support healthcare providers by delivering high-quality patient care, assisting with clinical procedures, and ensuring smooth patient flow throughout the clinic. You will work with patients of all ages, including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric populations.

Key Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and other clinical information.
• Assist physicians and providers with patient examinations and treatments.
• Administer immunizations, injections, and medications as directed by the provider.
• Collect laboratory specimens and perform specimen processing as needed.
• Perform phlebotomy and point-of-care laboratory testing (based on clinic needs).
• Assist with prescription refill requests and prior authorizations.
• Provide telephone support and facilitate communication between patients and providers.
• Perform front desk duties, including patient check-in/check-out when required.
• Order, stock, and maintain medical supplies and exam rooms.
• Perform X-ray duties if certified and assigned.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Follow clinic policies and maintain compliance with safety and infection control standards.
• Collaborate with providers, nurses, and the healthcare team to deliver exceptional patient care.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (ABHES or CAAHEP accredited) or an accredited Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) program with RMA certification.
• Previous experience in a clinical or outpatient healthcare setting.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) are also encouraged to apply.

LPN Requirements:

• Active Minnesota Practical Nurse (PN/LPN) License.
• Previous clinical experience.
• Current BLS Certification.

LPN Pay Range: $24.50 – $32.77/hour
