Test Analyst

Sr. Test AnalystThe Contractor will be responsible for following the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology while working with a variety of CalSTRS business areas on the elicitation and documentation of business and systems requirements; development of testing processes, strategies, and plans; and maintenance documentation in the CalSTRS requirements and testing management systemsKey Responsibilities:Reviewing and analyzing system Design specifications as well as Technical Design Specifications.Document defects (PIRs) and assist with Jama test case plan population.Monitor defects, participate in daily triage meetings, report status to management, and communicate information related to releases to stakeholders in a timely manner.System Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing, and other testing as needed of the system based on Requirement Specifications including Interfaces and Batches.Reporting and documenting technical issues.Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.Ensuring all defects are entered correctly and controlled / managed as effectively as possible through their lifecycle.To help assess the priority of defects/PIRs across multiple business streams.To own and chair daily defect calls with Development Leads, Business Test Analysts, and to provide clear minutes and actions.Maintaining absolute integrity of the defect database and ensuring a full audit trail for any changes made to defect status outside of the published defect process.Perform regression test activities during periodic maintenance releases.Conduct problem and impact assessment, gap analysis, process mapping, root-cause analysis, risk analysis and requirements elicitation.Resolve issues by using strong analytical and technical skills to address a variety of system related problems.Required Skills:At least ten (10) years of experience within the last twelve (12) years performing the following activities while working as a test analyst with large organizations, leading or participating in the technical implementation or modernization of legacy applications:Coordinating with a team of business, functional and technical testers to set up test execution goals and objectives.Defect management being responsible for validation, follow-up, solution verification, and escalation actions for all defects encountered for the application.Producing test execution and defect metrics as necessary for the project teams comprising of burndown charts and trends.At least ten (10) years of experience within the last twelve (12) years reviewing, developing, and / or providing input to project deliverables and artifacts produced during the project such as the following:Business Requirements and Business RulesTechnical and Service RequirementsTest StrategiesTest PlansTest CasesTransition PlansTraceability MatricesAt least eight (8) years of experience within the last twelve (12) years using Test Application Lifecycle Management tools such as JAMA to document functional and non-functional requirements, design specifications, test cases, defects and providing full traceability for the project.At least eight (8) years of experience within the last twelve (12) years having a good hands-on experience of working with large databases, using and writing SQL Queries for finding data for testing applications or Interfaces.Desired Skills:Experience as a Test Analyst working with a public pension system of similar size to CalSTRS.Experience as a Test Analyst leading or participating in the technical implementation of pension/retirement-related software development projects.At least five (5) years of experience within the last twelve (12) years designing, developing, and performing testing using testing automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cucumber and ROBOT Framework.The proposed project person will be able to adhere to the hybrid working model by working on-site 2-3 days per week at CalSTRS Headquarters, West Sacramento, CA.
