CAMPAIGN REGISTRATION TERMINATION ANALYST Agency: Secretary of State. Classification: Analyst I. Salary: $3,861.00 - $6,276.00 per month. Job Description and Duties Under the general direction of a Supervisor I, this Analyst I in the Political Reform Division is responsible for reviewing and processing campaign termination submissions filed under the Political Reform Act, independently evaluating complex inquiries, exercising sound judgment, and providing accurate guidance to filers, stakeholders, and the public. Other major functions include writing procedures, analyzing data, and creating and presenting reports. The incumbent will also deliver excellent customer service through phone, email, and in‑person appointments, and will receive on‑the‑job training to gain a comprehensive understanding of laws, regulations, and terminology related to campaign registration and disclosure requirements. Desirable Qualifications Ability to interpret, analyze, and properly apply laws, rules, policies, and procedures. High degree of initiative, independence of action, tact, and sound judgment. Ability and willingness to learn new tools and systems quickly; comfortable working in system development and testing environments. Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders utilizing excellent customer service and communication skills. Flexibility and forward‑thinking to adapt to changes in priorities, procedures, or technology. Dependable, ethical, and takes pride in delivering high‑quality, accurate work. Willingness to volunteer for additional tasks and projects. Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, and PowerBI. Interest in the importance of transparency in campaign and lobbying activities in California. Working Conditions This position provides a telework opportunity based upon the agency’s telework policy and business needs, typically after completing four (4) weeks of on‑site training.
