Job Overview The Business Officer of Student Affairs is hiring a Financial Administrator 2 to support Student Conduct & Community Standards, Dean of Students Office (including Bearcat Pantry & Resource Center), and Resident Education and Development (RED). The role oversees planning and supervision of fiscal administrative activities within a designated functional area. Essential Functions Oversee daily processing and accounting functions; ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with university, local, state and federal requirements and standard accounting and audit procedures, including all compliance with generally accepted accounting principles. Prepare budgets and collaborate with functional units to develop forecasts, monitor and report on financial results. Comprehend and enforce the University’s financial policies, applying these policies to various financial transactions and offering guidance to leadership. Monitor the financial status of budgetary allocations. Coordinate personnel functions for a functional area. Assist with processing, reconciliations, and training related to Bank of America (BOA) cards. Develop and maintain training materials and standard workflows for navigating and utilizing the Concur system. Communicate fiscal policy updates to the department, promoting awareness and compliance. Process supplier payments and manage other financial transactions within university financial systems (PACE). Perform related duties based on departmental needs. This job description can be changed at any time. Required Education Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or a related field. Six (6) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement. Required Experience Two (2) years of finance or accounting experience. Additional Qualifications Considered Detail oriented and organized. Strong analytical skills. Ability to multi-task and prioritize. Experience with Microsoft Office (Power BI and Excel).
