Office Administrator (Healthcare Insurance Verification and Authorization), Temp-To-Hire

Job Summary FlexStaff is seeking a Medical Office Administrator with experience in Healthcare Insurance Authorization and Medical Billing for a Prosthetics and Orthotics Lab in the Bronx, NY. Schedule and Employment Type Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 am–5:30 pm. This is a Temp‑to‑Hire role. Responsibilities Provide clerical support, answer phone calls, and obtain accurate insurance information, verification, and pre‑authorization. Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits. Collect co‑pays and assist with billing questions. Greet and welcome patients upon arrival. Check in patients and schedule or manage appointments for multiple providers. Reschedule or cancel appointments as needed. Collect patient information, insurance details, and medical history. Answer phone calls promptly and professionally. Relay messages and follow up on patient calls. Maintain and update patient records in EHR or paper files. Prepare and send appointment reminders and follow‑up letters. Manage incoming and outgoing medical records. Maintain a clean and organized reception area. Order office supplies as needed. Qualifications Bi‑lingual English‑Spanish highly preferred. At least 3 years of healthcare billing/collections experience. Salary The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
