Night Auditor

The Night Auditor is responsible for balancing the daily revenue and expense transactions for the hotel while providing exceptional guest service in a professional and genuinely friendly manner. This role may also serve as the manager-on-duty during the shift and ensures the successful overnight functioning of the Front Office.

Key responsibilities include:

• Posting appropriate charges and transactions to guest accounts.
• Maintaining, reviewing, posting, and/or transferring charges and deposits to master accounts.
• Investigating or analyzing out-of-balance situations and completing necessary corrections.
• Preparing daily revenue summaries and front office statistical reports.
• Performing end-of-day system procedures and preparing systems for the next days operations.
• Serving as night manager-on-duty as assigned and completing the MOD report.
• Assisting guests with check-in, check-out, and general inquiries regarding rates, room types, amenities, and local area information.
• Resolving guest complaints using the companys Guest Service Recovery method, escalating when necessary.
• Completing end-of-shift reports and deposits following company cash-handling standards.
• Maintaining awareness of security and safety concerns and notifying supervisors of risks.
• Keeping work areas clean and organized and maintaining safe work habits.
• Performing additional duties as needed, required, or directed.

Qualifications include:

• One year of experience in a similar position or guest service agent experience with relief night audit responsibilities preferred.
• Knowledge of accounting procedures and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally through proper grammar and active listening.
• Ability to operate a variety of computer applications.
• Availability to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and alternating shifts.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods (up to 4 hours or more).
• Ability to perform very light, infrequent physical movements such as bending, stretching, stooping, or squatting.
• Primarily indoor work environment within hotel facilities.
