Patient Billing Customer Service Representative

Providing excellent service to patients and families, the full-time remote Patient Billing Customer Service Representative will manage billing inquiries, investigate account discrepancies, and educate patients on payment options and insurance benefits. Key responsibilities Responds to inbound calls, emails, and written inquiries regarding patient billing statements and payment options Investigates and resolves billing issues while documenting all patient interactions in the billing software system Coordinates with internal departments and verifies insurance eligibility and benefits as needed Required qualifications High School Diploma or GED Minimum 1 year of experience in a customer service or call center environment, or in a billing area of a healthcare setting Basic knowledge of medical billing terminology and insurance processes Proficiency with computers and billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, or other EMR systems) Familiarity with HIPAA and patient privacy practices
