Accounting Assistant

Manchester, CT | Full-Time (Temp to Perm) | On-Site Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour Accounting Assistant About the Company Our client is a well-established electrical manufacturing and wholesale company located in Manchester, CT. They are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Assistant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organizational skills, basic accounting knowledge, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced office environment. Position Summary The Accounting Assistant will support the accounting and customer service functions by handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing activities, collections, payment processing, and daily financial transactions. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing a high volume of invoices, communicating with customers, and working within Epicor software. Responsibilities Process approximately 50 invoices daily Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities Prepare and process vendor and customer payments Handle customer billing and invoicing Perform collection activities and follow up on outstanding balances Contact customers regarding account inquiries and payment issues Process checks and credit card payments Maintain accurate financial records and documentation Enter data and update customer and vendor information in Epicor Assist with general accounting and administrative duties as needed Support month-end accounting processes and reporting Qualifications Basic accounting knowledge and understanding of accounting principles Previous experience in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, billing, or a related accounting support role Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications Experience with ERP software; Epicor experience is highly preferred but not required Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment High school diploma or equivalent required; additional accounting coursework is a plus Schedule Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM 30-minute lunch break Schedule may offer slight flexibility 100% on-site position in Manchester, CT Compensation & Benefits Pay Rate: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour, depending on experience Upon permanent hire, employees are eligible for: Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401(k) with 3% Company Match Paid Time Off and Holidays (where applicable) Why Apply?
