Director of Sales (Elgin)

About the Role

Ebco is seeking a Director of Sales to lead the development and execution of our sales strategy and drive profitable growth across our product lines. This is a senior leadership position responsible for setting the direction of the sales organization, managing our Regional Sales Managers (RSMs), and building executive-level relationships with key national and strategic accounts. The Director will support sales of our existing core products while identifying new products and technical programs at customer locations across North America.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on leadership of all Regional Sales Managers (RSMs), with a focus on visiting customers.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the RSMs and the sales process to drive continuous growth.
• Research and identify new growth opportunities, and develop and implement sales and marketing strategy.
• Lead and develop the sales organization, ensuring employee engagement, training, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for customer issues, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication.
• Build and maintain senior leadership relationships with key national and strategic accounts.
• Lead complex negotiations, contract reviews, and long-term agreements in partnership with legal, supply chain, and operations teams.
• Develop and implement sales policies and procedures in partnership with the Regional Sales Team.
• Define product line marketing and sales strategy using supporting systems and processes to gather marketing information
• Develop annual departmental goals, plans, and budget, and manage performance against them.
• Manage commission policy, sales credits, and performance assessment, and take action to achieve company sales objectives.
• Partner with senior leadership on strategy, forecasting, company objectives, and communicate sales performance and market insights regularly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred. Equivalent industry experience may be considered.
• 7+ years of sales experience in B2B industrial sales to OEMs, including 5+ years of sales management experience.
• Experience with technical business processes such as RFQ, PPAP, and ECR.
• Knowledge of JIT, logistics, and supply chain fundamentals.
• Proficiency with CRM systems, particularly Salesforce, and MS Office.
• Fundamental knowledge of manufacturing and the global supply chain.
• Technical proficiency and the ability to learn new products and solutions.
• Willingness to work onsite in Elgin, IL and travel approximately 25-40% across North America.

The annual base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $180,000 plus eligibility for bonus. This range is a general guideline as Ebco considers various factors such as the role's responsibilities and scope, work experience, education, skill set, and market conditions.
