POSITION OVERVIEW

SightMD is seeking a Comprehensive Cataract Surgeon to join its growing Pennsylvania team, with opportunities based in Little Neck, NY . This position offers the opportunity to step into an established practice with a strong, built-in patient base following the retirement of a long-standing physician.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide comprehensive ophthalmologic care, including advanced refractive cataract surgery.
\n
• Manage a full clinical and surgical caseload consistent with practice volume.
\n
• Maintain a clinic and surgical schedule that may include weekend and evening hours, consistent with SightMD's patient-access model.
\n
• Work alongside the office's existing surgeon during a transition period, with the goal of assuming full responsibility for the patient base as that surgeon steps back.
\n
• Build relationships with referring optometrists and primary care providers in New York to sustain and grow the practice's patient volume.
\n
• Participate in the equity partnership pathway available within the first two years of employment.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

• M.D. or D.O. with completion of an accredited Ophthalmology residency (fellowship training a plus).
\n
• Board certified or board eligible in Ophthalmology
\n
• Must hold an active New York medical license or be able to obtain licensure prior to start.
\n
• Recent residency or fellowship graduates and experienced surgeons (early-to-mid career, generally 2-10 years in practice) are both encouraged to apply.
\n
• Demonstrated surgical competence in cataract surgery; additional subspecialty training is a plus.
\n
• Connection or motivation to build a long-term practice in New York is a plus.
\n
• Strong clinical and surgical judgment in comprehensive ophthalmology and cataract care.
\n
• Willingness to work a full schedule consistent with a 24/7 patient-access model, including weekends and evenings as needed.

• Collaborative, team-oriented approach to practicing within a multi-specialty group.
\n
• Strong communication skills with patients, referring providers, and practice staff.
\n
• Commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care and the highest ethical standards.
