Description

American Traveler is hiring a night-shift RN for a PCU Float position requiring 2 years of telemetry/PCU experience and both Kansas and Missouri (or compact) RN licensure.

Details

• PCU Float unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes cardiac, telemetry, neuro stepdown, and MS/Tele cases
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:45-07:15)
• 8 weekend shifts required within Saint Luke's 6-week schedule, combination of Fri/Sat/Sun
• Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments as needed per unit
• Float required within scope to all MSI units, including ED to care for inpatient holds
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic EMR (experience preferred)

Requirements

• Active RN license required (Kansas and Missouri, or compact license, in hand at time of consideration)
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of recent specialty experience required, with no employment gaps greater than 90 days in the past year
• Previous Charge RN experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skills required include cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management, IV therapy including central and PICC line care, blood product administration, respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy care), wound care/wound vac, isolation precautions, IV insulin protocols, and management of post-cardiac and post-surgical patients
• Preferred skills include port access/management and chemotherapy monitoring
• Two professional references required, one from a supervisor and one from a charge RN, both from the past year
• SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring telemetry, cardiac, and stepdown-level monitoring
• Participate in Rapid Response and Code Team activations as needed
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are not accepted within a 75-mile radius of the facility
• Maximum RTO of 7 days, with all time-off requests finalized prior to consideration
• Returning staff must have a 3-month break in service after 18 months of previous assignment, and former permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Travel partners are not accepted
• Compliance documents due 2 Fridays before start date, with required EMR, infusion pump, and glucometer training modules completed prior to start
