The Crafted Scone | Bake Shop & Espresso Bar Full-Time | Experienced Baker The Crafted Scone is seeking an experienced and highly dependable Lead Baker to join our bakery team. This is a hands-on production and leadership position for someone who has strong commercial baking experience, works efficiently in a fast-paced bakery environment, and takes pride in producing consistently excellent products. Our Lead Baker will work alongside our bakery team while helping oversee daily production, quality, organization, food safety, and execution of The Crafted Scone’s recipes and bakery standards. What You’ll Do Lead and participate in daily bakery production Prepare and bake scones, pastries, cookies, breakfast items, and other bakery products according to established recipes and specifications Organize daily production according to pars, sales needs, catering orders, and product priorities Help direct and support other bakers throughout their shifts Ensure products are produced consistently in appearance, portion, texture, bake, and presentation Monitor product levels and adjust production appropriately throughout the day Maintain proper ingredient preparation, rotation, labeling, storage, and freshness Monitor bakery ingredients and produce for quality and expiration Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe bakery throughout production Ensure bakery equipment, workstations, refrigeration, storage areas, and production spaces are properly maintained Follow opening, production, cleaning, and closing procedures Assist with training and coaching bakery team members Identify production or quality concerns and communicate them promptly to management Help create an efficient, disciplined, and positive bakery environment What We’re Looking For We are specifically seeking a qualified, experienced baker, who understands professional bakery production. The ideal candidate will have: Previous professional or commercial bakery experience Experience in a high-volume bakery, café, restaurant, hotel, commissary, or similar food-production environment Strong understanding of baking fundamentals, including dough consistency, mixing methods, ingredient handling, portioning, oven management, and finished-product quality Ability to follow standardized recipes and production procedures precisely Ability to manage multiple products and production priorities simultaneously Strong organizational and time-management skills Experience training, leading, or supporting other bakery team members Knowledge of proper food handling, sanitation, labeling, storage, and rotation practices Ability to recognize quality issues and correct them before products reach our guests Dependability, attention to detail, and a strong sense of ownership over the bakery Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required by bakery operations Culinary or baking/pastry education is valued, but strong professional bakery experience is equally important. Physical Requirements This is an active, hands-on bakery position. Candidates must be comfortable standing for extended periods, working around commercial ovens and bakery equipment, repeatedly bending and reaching, and safely lifting and moving ingredients, trays, and bakery supplies.
