We are looking for an experienced CPA Tax Manager to join a respected public accounting firm in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In this role, you will oversee a range of tax engagements, provide strategic guidance to clients, and contribute to the continued growth of the practice. This opportunity is well suited for a tax specialist who enjoys combining technical expertise with client partnership and team leadership.

Responsibilities:

• Direct the preparation and final review of tax filings for businesses and individuals, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely completion.

• Advise clients on tax-saving opportunities and long-term planning strategies tailored to their financial goals and organizational needs.

• Build and maintain strong client relationships by serving as a trusted resource on tax matters and responding effectively to evolving needs.

• Lead, coach, and support tax staff by reviewing work, providing feedback, and encouraging ongoing career development.

• Analyze challenging tax matters, interpret regulations, and develop practical recommendations for complex situations.

• Contribute to broader client service initiatives by assisting with audit and assurance-related projects when needed.

• Manage multiple engagements at once, balancing deadlines, quality standards, and client expectations across a diverse portfolio.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

• CPA license is required.

• At least 5 years of tax experience within a public accounting environment.

• Demonstrated ability to prepare and review corporate, partnership, individual, and fiduciary tax returns.

• Strong knowledge of tax planning, tax research, and compliance across a variety of entity types.

• Experience handling complex tax issues and developing well-reasoned solutions for clients.

• Proven leadership, communication, and client service abilities in a detail-oriented services setting.
