Drilling/Production Engineer for AI Evaluation

Drilling/Production Engineers apply hands-on drilling and production expertise to evaluate AI-generated technical content and to produce expert training data that reflects real-world operations workflows and performance engineering practices. This is flexible, hourly contract work done remotely, designed to be taken on alongside other professional commitments.

• Review AI-generated responses about drilling, production, and related operations for technical accuracy and relevance.
• Provide detailed, actionable feedback so models better reflect field workflows, equipment performance, and engineering practices.
• Create expert-level training examples based on your daily tools, procedures, and troubleshooting experience.
• Work asynchronously with AI research teams, documenting edge cases, common failure modes, and correct operational approaches.
• No prior AI experience required, the role relies on your domain expertise.

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in industrial operations, plant performance, or energy asset management.
• Relevant job titles include, but are not limited to, Plant Performance Engineer, Reliability Engineer, SCADA Engineer, Drilling/Production Engineer, or Generation Asset Analyst, or equivalent roles in the energy industry.
• Hands-on experience with one or more of the following tools: AVEVA PI, WinCC, Oracle MDM, Power BI, Bloomberg Terminal.
• Strong written communication skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and asynchronously with remote teams.

• Engagement type: hourly contract, part-time.
• Location: fully remote.
• Schedule: flexible and asynchronous, no minimum hour requirement; most contributors work approximately 5 to 20 hours per week when participating in an active project.
• Placement depends on current project needs. Being selected for one project does not guarantee continuous assignments, though contributors may be considered for future projects as they become available.

Up to $85/hr (depending on the project)
