Field Service TechnicianHiFyve is hiring for a Field Service Technician!Salary: $35–$50+/hour DOELocation: Houston, TXPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mobile cranes and lifting equipment at customer job sites throughout the territory. As a member of the service team, you'll support one of the largest crane sales, rental, and service organizations in the Gulf Coast, providing expert field service on rough terrain cranes, all terrain cranes, hydraulic truck cranes, boom trucks, crawler cranes, industrial carry deck cranes, and material handling equipment. Scott-Macon is an authorized dealer for Tadano, Tadano Demag, Tadano Mantis, Kobelco, Broderson, and Terex legacy cranes, with 24/7 field service support throughout Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana.Key ResponsibilitiesDiagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain hydraulic and lattice boom crawler cranes, rough terrain cranes, all terrain cranes, truck cranes, boom trucks, industrial carry deck cranes, and material handling equipmentPerform mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, pneumatic, and electrical repairs in the fieldTroubleshoot engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, swing drives, winches, outriggers, boom systems, steering, braking, and electronic control systemsRead and interpret hydraulic schematics, electrical wiring diagrams, and OEM service manualsPerform preventative maintenance, scheduled service, inspections, warranty repairs, and emergency breakdown repairsInspect cranes and lifting components for proper operation and identify safety or performance concernsPerform operational testing and final quality inspections following repairsComplete service reports, work orders, inspection documentation, and parts requests accuratelyCommunicate repair recommendations and equipment status with customers and service managementMaintain a clean, organized service truck and company-provided toolsFollow all OSHA, ANSI, DOT, and company safety standards while working safely at customer job sitesParticipate in ongoing OEM training to remain current on new crane models and technologyRequirementsHigh school diploma or GED required3+ years of experience servicing cranes, heavy construction equipment, heavy-duty trucks, or similar mobile equipmentStrong mechanical, hydraulic, diesel, and electrical troubleshooting skillsExperience reading hydraulic schematics, electrical diagrams, and OEM service manualsExperience servicing Tadano, Tadano Demag, Tadano Mantis, Kobelco, Broderson, Terex (legacy), Grove, Link-Belt, Manitowoc, National Crane, Elliott, or similar mobile crane equipment preferredExperience with diesel engines, hydraulic systems, CAN bus diagnostics, and electronic control systemsAbility to work independently while providing exceptional customer serviceWillingness to travel throughout the assigned territory and respond to occasional emergency service callsValid driver's license with an acceptable driving record; CDL is a plusNCCCO, ASE, or manufacturer certifications are a plus
