Neuro Tele Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Neuro Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position is ideal for both experienced nurses and first-time travelers looking for a challenging opportunity in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care in a Neuro Telemetry setting.
• Monitor patients for vital signs and changes in health status.
• Conduct assessments, interpret telemetry readings, and manage dysrhythmias.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Social Services.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions and treatment plans.
• Participate in rapid response and code teams as necessary.

Shift and Scheduling

This position operates on a night shift schedule, requiring three 12-hour shifts each week (19:00 - 07:00). The candidate will also be expected to commit to 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule.

Patient Care Details

• Expected nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:4.
• Primary patient demographics include individuals with neurological conditions such as TIA, strokes, and various neurosurgical interventions.
• Daily census approximately 27 patients in a 29-bed unit.
• Utilization of an interdisciplinary team approach to care, ensuring comprehensive support for patients and families.

Qualifications

• A valid RN license is required; a compact license is preferred.
• A minimum of 1 year of RN experience in a telemetry or neuro setting is preferred.
• Previous experience in a similar environment, such as a Trauma Level II facility, is advantageous.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, preferably EPIC.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Must be prepared to work over key holidays and provide notice for any requested time off.
