Job Title: Shipping/Receiving Coordinator Job Description

The Shipping/Receiving Coordinator is responsible for managing all warehouse activities in both the finished goods and raw material warehouses, as well as overseeing all shipping operations.

• Plan and coordinate outbound shipments while communicating with Sales regarding shipment status and schedules.
• Box and package labels according to customer requirements.
• Check documents for specific shipping instructions or select the appropriate carrier based on package size, weight, and routing.
• Receive and verify all shipments against purchase orders using a computer system.
• Unload, receive, and stock shipments of supplies and materials, inspecting for damage and completeness of order.
• Assist in unloading trucks when necessary.
• Unpack and store supplies on racks or floor level.
• Deliver supplies to requesting departments.
• Maintain responsibility for inventory control.
• Clean and maintain the shipping and receiving area and storeroom.
• Sign for all incoming packages after verification.
• Provide assistance and information to other departments.

• 6 months to a year of related experience in shipping, receiving, and/or warehouse operations.
• Proficient with Outlook and Excel.
• Accurate data-entry skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and experience moving freight.
• Forklift certified or the ability to be certified within 30 days.

• High school education, plus specialized schooling and/or on-the-job education in a specific skill area.
• Knowledge of UPS, FedEx, and carrier transportation regulations is highly preferred but training will be provided.
• Ability to work well with others both externally and internally.
• APICS, LEAN, or 5S experience preferred.
• SAP experience and forklift certification preferred.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
