Door Host/Security

QED Hospitality is a restaurant operations management group, focused on running Food & Beverage operations in boutique hotels and exclusive sites nationally. 

We bring our operational acumen to the table, developing and managing restaurants tailored to the hotel, the region and the demands of the market. These are not cookie cutter concepts, but true restaurants born of the region and based on our history.

The Door Host/Security will be responsible for monitoring and controlling the flow of guests from the lobby to the rooftop bar. We are seeking an individual that will align with our mission of hospitality while having a controlling presence that will deter problems and diffuse any guest tensions. The Doorman will work directly with our lobby hosts and managers to keep the flow of business at an optimum level. The Doorman must be a good communicator, patient, and able to maintain composure during stressful situations. Friday and Saturday availability required. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet guests upon arrival with professionalism and courtesy.

• Check IDs to verify age and eligibility for entry in accordance with Louisiana state laws.

• Monitor the entrance, lobby, and surrounding areas to ensure guest safety and prevent unauthorized access.

• Enforce venue rules and policies in a calm, respectful, and consistent manner.

• Respond to guest concerns, disturbances, or emergencies quickly and appropriately.

• Coordinate with management and staff to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment.

• Document and report any incidents, safety hazards, or suspicious activity.

• Assist in emergency situations, including evacuations if necessary.

• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.

• Prior experience in security, hospitality, or customer service preferred.

• Must be at least 21 years old and legally eligible to work in Louisiana.

• Knowledge of Louisiana alcohol laws and ID verification practices.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.

• Physical ability to stand for long periods, patrol entry areas, and respond quickly if needed.

• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

Mobility and dexterity to move large, heavy objects up to 50 lbs. Manual dexterity to include using kitchen utensils and handling food items. Must be able to tolerate industry standard chemicals used for cleaning and sanitizing, and be able to withstand a hot and/or close environment. Must be able to work at a fast pace, and to respond to visual and oral cues.

Qualifications:

Required: Must be at least 18 years of age. Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills. Must uphold company standards relating to security and behavior.

Preferred: High school diploma or GED. Previous doorman/security experience a plus.
