Research Technician I - Pediatrics Genetics

Position Summary The Greer lab studies how non-genetic information can be transmitted across generations and how this information influences complex phenotypes. We use organisms such as C. elegans, Dictyostelium, mice, and mammalian tissue culture systems to explore epigenetic inheritance mechanisms, developmental defects, and disease. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Assist investigators or higher-level technicians with research studies, experiments, and assays. Collect data, prepare solutions, and maintain laboratory equipment. Maintain records on research and assist with data entry. Support general laboratory maintenance and cleaning. Perform other assigned duties. Working Conditions Laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards. Must be able to wear protective equipment and attend to standard care of research animals. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. No specific certifications or professional licenses required. No specific work experience required. Preferred Qualifications Prior research experience with tissue culture, C. elegans, Dictyostelium discoideum, or mice. Salary Range $16.54 - $22.35 per hour (Grade R04-H).
