Job Description

This role involves performing high-quality TIG (GTAW) welding on stainless steel components in a heavy industrial environment. You will read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols, set up and adjust welding equipment, and ensure all welds meet strict quality and safety standards while supporting production schedules.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG (GTAW) welding on stainless steel rails and related components according to specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and work instructions to determine welding requirements.
• Set up, operate, and adjust welding equipment to meet job specifications and quality standards.
• Inspect completed welds to ensure quality, accuracy, and structural integrity.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with safety guidelines.
• Follow production schedules and meet quality expectations to support on-time delivery.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve issues and improve processes as needed.

Essential Skills

• Previous welding experience with a focus on TIG (GTAW) welding.
• Proficiency in TIG welding on stainless steel materials.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and work instructions.
• Experience setting up and adjusting welding equipment safely and accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to weld quality and structural integrity.
• Ability to work safely and maintain a clean work area in a heavy industrial environment.
• Reliability in meeting production schedules and quality expectations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with stainless steel fabrication and welding.
• Familiarity with working in a high-temperature industrial setting.
• Comfort working with hand tools and industrial equipment commonly used in welding and fabrication.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment or weld quality issues.
• Willingness to follow detailed instructions and standard operating procedures.

Work Environment

This is a full-time role on a day shift schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The position is based in a heavy industrial environment where temperatures can reach up to 108 degrees. To support employee comfort and safety, the facility provides water stations and a slushie machine in the break room to help keep employees cool. The work involves hands-on welding and fabrication using TIG (GTAW) equipment and tools, with an emphasis on safe work practices, proper use of personal protective equipment, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, TN.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
