Grounds and Building Maintenance

Provides daily general maintenance and repair services for all buildings and grounds throughout the district. The work shift may vary depending on the need.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent required. Educational training beyond a high school degree is preferred.
• Good character and cooperation.
• Good work attitude.
• Possess a valid State Vehicle Operator's License.
• Basic knowledge of painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems preferred.
• Prior experience in the operation of all ground's equipment preferred.
• Ability to maintain positive working relationships with district staff and vendors.
• A history of and ability to maintain a positive attendance and job performance record.
• Satisfactory completion of contractual training requirements.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Takes care of athletic fields, playgrounds, tennis courts, bleachers, etc.
• Marks all fields and courts as required.
• Assists in snow removal.
• Provides basic carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical services.
• Operates all ground's equipment.
• Bending, lifting, and overhead work required.
• Performs other duties as directed by the Grounds and Maintenance Supervisor.

Reports To: Grounds and Maintenance Supervisor

Salary: $18.50 - $23.00 Salary is based on qualifications and experience

Beginning Date: As soon as possible after posting deadline and interviews

Work may be performed in adverse weather conditions such as rain, wind, cold, and snow. Occasionally the employee will bend or twist at the neck more than the average person. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs such as boxes of books. The employee is directly responsible for safety, well-being, or work output of other people. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus.
