Ignite Connections and Transform Lives in Scenic Honolulu – Embrace a Career as a Speech Language Pathologist
Embarking on a new career can be a life-changing decision, especially when it offers you the chance to empower voices—and their stories. As a Speech Language Pathologist nestled in the vibrant heart of Honolulu, your role will extend far beyond the mere treatment of communication and swallowing disorders. You'll find yourself at the helm of transformation, unlocking the potential of individuals at every stage of life, from little ones taking their first babbling steps in speech to elder patients bravely regaining their independence.
This position invites you to serve a diverse array of individuals, offering unique adventures in a dynamic environment that intermingles outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient contributions. Whether your passion lies in supporting children's linguistic milestones, bridging communication gaps for adults with neurogenic disorders, or aiding seniors in cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation, this is the perfect place for you to thrive.
Assess patients from various age groups, utilizing both standardized assessments and keen observational skills.
Craft tailored treatment plans to meet immediate goals alongside long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing enhancement.
Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions tailored to improve communication, language skills, fluency, voice production, and swallowing abilities.
Partner with an interdisciplinary team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to create comprehensive care strategies.
Educate patients and families to promote therapeutic progress in non-clinical settings.
Contribute to inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions to uphold continuity of care across the treatment journey.
Ensure precise and prompt documentation in alignment with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
Engage in ongoing professional education and collaboration with peers to stay at the forefront of the field.
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not ASHA-certified.
Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is necessary within the first 30 days of employment.
Adept in evidence-based approaches for treatment across age groups, with a solid grasp of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
Excellent interpersonal skills to foster connections with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams.
Ability to tailor therapy strategies to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Competent in navigating electronic medical records and a variety of documentation standards.
Attractive salary reflective of experience.
Flexible hours promoting work-life harmony and diversity in caseloads.
Chance to specialize in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday compensation.
Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options.
Support for continuing education and professional growth.
Dynamic, collaborative work environment focusing on optimal care and continuous learning.
As a Speech Language Pathologist here, you won't simply deliver therapy — you'll immerse yourself in a community mission to reawaken voices, enhance connections, and foster joyous moments through the profound act of communication.
You'll be part of a supportive network of clinicians who regard one another as family, all within an environment that prioritizes working together over competition. Each patient's narrative is unique; we trust you to help sculpt how they share their story.
