Description

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist with spine and total joint experience for an acute care hospital surgical services position.

Details

• Acute care hospital with 212 staffed beds
• Day shift schedule (3x12 hours), with shift start times varying between 0630-0930 or 1030
• On-call shifts required, generally about 3 weekdays and 2-3 weekend days within a 6-week pay period, with a 30-minute response time
• Weekend and holiday on-call coverage required, including 0700-1900 and 0700-0700 shifts
• Weekend shifts required and may exceed every other weekend to meet unit needs
• Cases include general, ortho, ortho/spine, ortho/total joints, urology, endo/laparoscopic, vascular, gyn, abdominal hysterectomy, C-sections, dilation & curettage, laparoscopic assisted gynecological procedures, and vaginal hysterectomy
• Preferred case experience includes ophthalmology, plastics, podiatry, ENT, and robotic assisted gynecological procedures
• Uses Da Vinci Xi surgical system
• Charting is done in EPIC
• Floating to sister facility's Outpatient Surgery Pavilion (3 OR suites) as needed
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers considered with 3+ years of experience
• Spine and total joint experience required
• Scrubbing and inpatient experience required
• SPD and outpatient experience preferred
• BLS certification required
• CST certification required
• NBSTSA or NCCT national certification required
• License required if applicable
• EPIC EMR experience required

Additional Information

• Support surgical procedures across a wide range of specialties including orthopedics, urology, gynecology, and vascular surgery
• Navy blue scrubs required for RNs; scrubs provided for L&D/OR staff
• Free parking available on-site
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius
• Minimal RTO accommodated at time of consideration
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not live within 50 miles of the facility
