This full-time opportunity offers 36 hours per week, full benefits, and a convenient 4-week schedule. Recent Graduates welcome. There is opportunity for overtime and to cover various shifts if interested. New $2500 Sign-On Bonus is available for full-time positions for new employees!

Emerald Coast Behavioral Hospital provides inpatient treatment services to adolescents and adults at our 86-bed facility in Panama City, FL and outpatient services to adolescents and adults at our four outpatient centers located throughout the Florida Panhandle. Additionally, we offer specialized treatment for active duty military members through our Military Resiliency Program, specialized chemical dependency treatment and TMS therapy for chronic depression.

Job Duties:

• Conduct s complete nursing assessment of all admissions including risk assessments (SAO, elopement, assault, suicide ); educational needs, and medication review. Complete s all required nursing documents within established time frame .
• Actively participate s in treatment team meetings & decisions, collect s & include s data in care plan updates, asses ses patient needs, design s and implement s programs, and document s / evaluate s patient responses .
• Document s nursing care and treatment progression through timely & accurate chart entries & nursing treatment plan updates . Complete s treatment plans as per policy . Appropriately notify Physician of changes in condition and other patient issues, as per policy .
• Assess es , plan s , implement s , and evaluate s patient care and the milieu. Appropriately monitor s patients through detox, including CIWA and COWS assessments.
• Provide s oversight of completion of physician orders, including labs, EKG's and x-rays .
• Ensure s that medication & treatment are administered as prescribed and that documentation reflects the care provided . Complete s medication consents from patient or guardian , as per policy .
• Provide s leadership, supervision, and direction to Mental Health Technicians and LPNs. Provide s oversight of q15 observations as evidenced by signatures on q15 observation rounding's . Conduct s rounds.
• Provide s and direct s milieu management. Actively assist nurses and MHT's, keeping safety foremost .
• May need to assist patients with personal hygiene and ADL ' s as needed . May provide q15 observation round coverage at times.
• Assess es , direct s and intervene s in crisis situations . Recognize s escalation and take s preventive steps to reduce incidence of restraint and seclusion.
• Provide s and document s patient and family education . Leads nurse education groups and completes documentation .
• Initiate s and account s for Special Treatment Procedures .
• Provides a thorough and accurate report to the oncoming shift and completes an appropriate hand-off of the patients and q15 observation forms .
• Manage s and order s unit supplies for patient activities and non-group time that support a positive therapeutic environment .
• Complete s chart checks as assigned.
• Float s to other units as assigned .
• Serve s as a mentor and trainer to new employees .
• May be assigned to perform Mental Health Technician (MHT) and/or 1:1 duties.
• Performs other duties as assigned/required by this position.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) Job Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited RN program
• Current FL RN License or compact license
• Ability to work 12 hour shifts - 3 days per week to include weekends
