Job Summary
An Intensive Care Unit (ICU) registered nurse is needed in a neuro-focused unit within a healthcare organization. The position involves caring for patients with neurological conditions such as stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, neuro surgeries, and craniotomies, in a state-of-the-art, acute care setting. The role requires working night shifts, with opportunities for additional shifts and self-scheduling, contributing to a strong stroke and neuro program.

Job Details

• Position Description: ICU RN with neuro specialization responsible for providing acute patient care in a neuro ICU setting.
• Certifications & Education: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certified by the American Heart Association; NIHSS certification required; licensed to practice in the state.
• Years of Experience & Requirements: Minimum of 2 years in neuro intensive care preferred; 0 years minimum required.
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, starting at 6:45 PM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Responsibilities: Managing patients with conditions such as CVA, ICB, neuro surgeries, ventriculostomies; line insertions; interpreting EKG strips; working with hospitalist or intensivist teams; utilizing Cerner electronic health record system; providing patient safety and care relief as needed.
• Additional Operational Details: Work includes every other weekend, rotating holidays, first to float to sister facilities when needed, and a 1-2 day floor-specific orientation with a preceptor.
• Submission Requirements: Candidates must send a copy of their drivers license reflecting their name, complete the dys exam through UNA within 24-48 hours with a passing score, and meet all clinical certification requirements.
