Key Roles & Responsibilities Respond to emergent and non-emergent calls, assess the situation, diagnose and treat patients for emergency needs Report patient information to medical staff in a timely and accurate manner Obtain a basic medical history and physical examination of the patient, and assess the situation’s urgency and seriousness Provide emergency care at the scene and during transit to the hospital Utilize necessary medical equipment to treat the patient and ascertains the extent of their injuries or illness Communicate with the medical care facility about the patient’s condition, status and time of arrival May be requested to provide patient care in the hospital setting performing tasks delegated by the RN based on the scope of the individual’s training and capabilities Licensure / Certification Qualifications State licensure/certification as an Emergency Medical Technician or higher in the appropriate state of practice NIMS 100, 200, 700; Over 75, need to have medical permission BLS (Basic Life Support) within one month of hire Must meet the driving requirements and criteria acceptable to Essentia Health’s insurer Current (valid) US/State Driver’s License State background check must provide clearance to work with vulnerable adults Schedule and Compensation Shift: One 24‑hour shift per week 0600 – 0600 (6a-6a) Shift Rotation: Day/Eve/Night Rotation (United States of America) Weekends: yes, Holidays: Yes, Call Obligation: No Compensation Range: $31.40 – $43.96 per hour FTE: 0.6, Possible Remote/Hybrid Option Benefits Generous Paid Personal Leave 401(k) Savings Plan with annual matching contribution Life and disability coverage options Tuition reimbursement program Adoption assistance program Wellness program focusing on physical, mental, and emotional health Competitive Paid Time Off (PTO) and holiday time Comprehensive Health Coverage: PPO and High Deductible plans, plus dental insurance Legal & EEO Statement Essentia Health is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
