Position Summary

As the Business Office Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our business office activities. Reporting directly to the Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Administrator, you’ll ensure that all administrative procedures comply with federal, state, and local regulations. Your work will help maintain the financial and operational health of our nursing home while supporting the well-being of our residents and their families.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll take charge of a variety of essential tasks, including but not limited to:

• Accounts Management : Reconcile monthly census reports with accounts receivable, manage resident ancillary charges, and prepare billing forms for third-party payers.
• Payment Collection : Collect payments upon admission and manage monthly payment schedules, ensuring timely deposits and accurate records.
• Resident Trust Fund Oversight : Manage and reconcile resident trust funds, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
• Claims Processing : Prepare and review Medicare Part A, Part B, and long-term care insurance claims, submitting them promptly and accurately.
• Customer Service : Respond to inquiries about patient account balances and promote positive relationships with residents, families, and guests.
• Team Collaboration : Work closely with co-workers to address concerns, solve problems, and maintain a respectful and cooperative work environment.

This position also requires tactful communication in sensitive situations and a commitment to upholding the privacy, dignity, and rights of all residents.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

• At least 1 year of relevant experience in business office management or a related field.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Proficiency in managing accounts receivable, billing systems, and claims processing.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with residents, family members, and team members.
• A proactive, problem-solving attitude and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of patient/resident rights and a commitment to fostering a safe and respectful environment.
