Position Details:
RN Acute Care - Med-Surg- Glenwood Springs, CO
Location : Glenwood Springs, CO 81601
Duration : 13 weeks Contract
Pay Range : $50- $55/hr
Shift : 12-hour night shift

Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) – Acute Care/Med-Surg is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to adult patients in an acute care/medical-surgical setting. The RN will utilize specialized clinical knowledge and expertise to assess patient needs, develop and implement individualized care plans, coordinate care, and evaluate patient outcomes using the nursing process.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, and high-quality nursing care to adult acute care/Med-Surg patients.
• Assess, monitor, and evaluate patients' conditions and clinical needs.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and nursing standards.
• Monitor patients for changes in condition and respond appropriately to clinical needs.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Follow hospital policies, infection control standards, and patient safety protocols.
• Participate in the unit's call rotation and weekend coverage as required.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent Acute Care, Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, or similar RN experience — Required
• Current RN License to practice in Colorado
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute care environment
• Willingness to participate in weekend and call rotations
