Staff Accountant

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys variety, takes ownership of their work, and is comfortable managing the financial activity of multiple companies and accounts. The ideal candidate will have hands-on QuickBooks experience, a strong understanding of journal entries and general ledger accounting, and the organizational skills needed to balance competing priorities across multiple entities. WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU: Competitive salary up to $60,000 annually, based on experience Full-time opportunity with a growing organization Opportunity to manage accounting functions across multiple companies Collaborative, team-oriented environment Position with variety, autonomy, and room to expand your accounting experience ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage day-to-day accounting activities for multiple companies and accounts Prepare, review, and post journal entries Maintain accurate general ledger records and account activity Perform bank and account reconciliations Manage financial transactions and records within QuickBooks Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed Reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes Review financial records for accuracy and investigate discrepancies Maintain organized documentation and supporting accounting records Track activity across multiple entities while ensuring transactions are recorded accurately Assist with financial reporting and provide accounting information to leadership as requested Work closely with internal team members to ensure accounting deadlines are met Support additional accounting and administrative projects as needed QUALIFICATIONS: Previous accounting experience required Proficiency in QuickBooks required Hands-on experience preparing and posting journal entries Experience managing accounting responsibilities for multiple companies, entities, or accounts strongly preferred Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and account reconciliation Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable Understanding of month-end closing processes Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and manage a high-volume workload Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team Associate or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent hands-on accounting experience will also be considered Apex Placement & Consulting is an equal opportunity employer.
