Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead corporate accounting operations for a manufacturing organization based in Newport Beach, California. This position will guide financial reporting, support public filing requirements, and deliver timely analysis to senior leadership. The role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting leader who can strengthen internal processes, oversee consolidated reporting, and partner across the business to maintain accurate and compliant financial results.
Responsibilities:• Lead the corporate accounting function and provide direction, coaching, and oversight to the accounting team.
• Oversee the monthly close and consolidation process, including preparation and review of company-wide financial statements in Hyperion.
• Coordinate the completion of quarterly and annual external reporting, including 10-Q and 10-K filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable standards.
• Partner with internal and external auditors during quarterly reviews, annual audits, and other required examinations.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules to maintain strong financial controls and reporting accuracy.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, strengthen procedures, and introduce tools that increase efficiency and consistency.
• Prepare executive-level reporting, financial analysis, and special project deliverables to support corporate and global business needs.
• Contribute to ongoing process alignment and operational improvements associated with the corporate headquarters environment and cross-functional collaboration.• At least 3 years of experience in a Corporate Controller role or a closely related accounting leadership position.
• Demonstrated experience preparing 10-Q and 10-K filings, including recent hands-on involvement within the past 5 years.
• Solid knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting practices within a corporate environment.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience using Hyperion for financial consolidation or reporting activities.
• Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze data and build reliable financial reporting tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA certification is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to continuous improvement.
